Travel is a necessity for an artist. And the farther outside of your comfort zone, the better it will jump-start new work that’s uniquely yours. Japan did that for me. There was nothing familiar at all. The results, as you can see, are more colorful than before and there is deeper meaning.

That’s where I was on 9/11.....and I wondered if I could ever go home.
