REMEMBERING THE FIRST TIME AT THE LOUVRE....ACCOMPANIED BY MY SOON TO BE EX....HE COULDNT TEAR HIMSELF AWAY FROM THE MONA LISA, MAINLY BECAUSE OF THE SPECIAL ATTENTION HE WAS ENJOYING FROM THE SCHOOL GIRLS IN THEIR UNIFORMS....SO I WANDERED INTO THE NEXT ROOM...FULL OF REMBRANDTS....AND I WAS TRANSFORMED BY THE EXQUISITE SMALL PANELS...ACTULLY MOVED TO TEARS BY THE BEAUTY THAT CONFRONTED ME. I PRAYED THAT SOMEDAY MY WORK WOULD BE THAT POWERFUL.
THE EXPERIENCE OF SPENDING THAT DAY IN THE PRESENCE OF GREATNESS CHANGED ME, I FELT SMALL AND INADEQUATE...NOT WORTHY OF EVEN MY SMALL TALENT. BUT ALSO MORE DETERMINED TO GIVE IT MY BEST EFFORT. IT TOOK YEARS FOR ME TO LOVE MY WORK BECAUSE IT WAS LACKING THAT INTANGIBLE SOMETHING THAT GAVE IT POWER. MAYBE I'M GETTING CLOSE NOW AFTER NEARLY 40 YEARS OF LEARNING.
